The Vision

In line with the vision of the College to develop and to produce effective educators, the School of Education is an active participant in the production of dynamic, proactive, and participative teachers in the elementary and secondary levels of education.

The college makes a meaningful response to the national need for quality, concerned, ethical, and morally upright teachers who will participate in molding developing and helping the youth achieve their maximum level of self-realization, attain personal success and happiness, and become worthy and contributing members of the society.

The Mission

To develop Catholic students into well-thinkers, balanced personalities with capabilities to prepare as citizens who possess not only the relevant skills required but also the values that reflect our democratic and religious heritage.

The School specifically aims to:

  1. Develop self-actualized students who are imbued with Christian ideals, aspirations and, values and who appreciate Philippine tradition, life and culture;
  2. Equip students with theories and concepts necessary to understand the individual and his development process;
  3. Deepen the understanding and appreciation of values that will improve the human spirit, refine human nature and contribute to the human beings’ unending quest for fulfillment in the students;
  4. Provide awareness of the importance of economic growth and social development through relevant curriculum, effective classroom strategies and workable instructional objectives;
  5. Help students understand the nature, needs and motivation of the pupils, students, as well as the nature and problems of the community; and
  6. Enable students to relate to the nation and the world in which the lives, to God and to the people in the community.

Why Education?

Education offers a wide range of opportunities as vital component of any country’s development program. It is one of the most formidable pillars in the economic structure of any democratic and just society. Graduates of Education have entered and have been accommodated in different fields of endeavor, as school teachers, as office clerks, as supervisors and salesman in business concerns, and as trainors and facilitators in training camps.

The School of Education of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion is considered one of the most qualified schools of education in terms of laboratory for practice teaching, facilities, instructional materials, well-furnished classrooms, quality instructors who are master’s degree holders, and religious instruction for spiritual upliftment.

Activities, experiences and challenges

To realize the aims of the School, learning experiences are selected to enable the students to develop their potentials to the maximum; the elementary and high schools are equipped with facilities, such as laboratory for B.E.E.d and B.S.E.d student interns that will enchance their capacity to learn various concepts, principles, and processes basic to the practice of professional teaching.

The students undergo off-campus teaching at the second part of their internship experience.

To provide for the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes in teaching and leadership capabilities and the enhancement of leading the people in the community; the student interns are exposed to varied activities in the community. This is termed community immersion.

Students of the School of education are given the opportunity participate in activities and affairs such as field trips, demonstration lessons, symposia, orientation, debates, declamations, choral singing, rallies on school matters, recollections, athletics, exhibits, parades, religious processions, novena prayer, and fellowship meetings.
